Congress will soon decide whether to approve a $250 supplemental payment to adjust for lack of a cost of living (“COLA”) increase. According to U.S. News, Congress may approve the measure in November.
The payment, if approved, will be made to 54 million Social Security beneficiaries at a cost of $14 billion. A social security increase which may provide some relief to seniors who have not received an increase in their Social Security benefits in over two years.
